Caring for your Wig
The proper care of your Revlon™ wig or hairpiece will keep it looking like new. Most women find it best to have a 2nd item to use while allowing the proper time for cleaning and drying of their first item.
Gently remove tangles with fingers or pick comb. Do not brush.
Use as shampoo specifically formulated to clean wigs, such as Revlon Texturizing Cleanser for synthetic hair wigs.
In a sink or basin, mix a capful of wig shampoo in cool water and immerse your wig or hairpiece. Let soak for a few minutes.
Agitate gently and rinse in cool water until all shampoo is removed
Refill the sink or basin with clean, cool water and add a small amount of wig conditioner for synthetic wigs.
Immerse item and agitate gently. DO NOT RINSE OUT CONDITIONER.
Remove item and gently comb through any tangles.
Blot dry in a towel and then gently shake
Replace hairnet and allow your item to air dry on a wig stand or on top of a hairspray canister. Comb add-ons can be hung on a cloths line or hanger, with combs locked together
DO NOT BRUSH OR STYLE THE ITEM UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY DRY.
Once dry, remove the hairnet. You will notice that the original style of your item has come back
If the hair pattern was curly or wavy, you will not need to brush the hair, the curls or waves will fall back into place.
We strongly recommend using a shampoo and conditioner designed for synthetic hair wigs. When not wearing your wig, keepo the wig on a wig stand.
For restyling, customizing, or for any maintenance questions, we recommend speaking with your stylist.
Warnings: DO NOT USE A HAIR DRYER, CURLING IRON OR ANY TYPE OF HEATED STYLING TOOLS ON SYNTHETIC HAIR. KEEP AWAY FROM ALL SOURCES OF HEAT OR OPEN FLAME.
Most manufacturers identify cap sizes differently. Use this guide to help identify the capsize circumference of a wig. To find your cap size for a wig or hairpiece, use a flexible fabric or plastic tape measure and place one end in the middle of your forehead (just touching your front hairline), then wrap the remaining tape around the back of your your head just above your neck hairline behind your ears and then back to the middle of your forehead. Take this measurement and use the below chart to help select the correct size for your cap!
